Last Sunday, we performed the premiere of our MET Orchestra Chamber Music Concert Series at Carnegie Hall. It was an incredibly meaningful concert, and we are beyond thrilled to have a total of 6 concerts in this series.
Our first program consisted of works by Wagner, Saint-Saëns, Louise Farrenc and Terence Blanchard – with music from his hit opera Fire Shut Up in My Bones.
We were honored to perform with the stunning soprano Angel Blue!
We are grateful for the support shown us from our Music Director Yannick Nezet-Seguin in recognizing the need to give us the freedom to create these programs as a way of expanding our repertoire and our creativity outside of The Metropolitan Opera House.
Our next concert will be on November 21 at 7:30pm with performances by Yannick Nezet-Seguin and new music from Matthew Aucoin’s world premiere opera Eurydice, opening at the Met on November 23rd.
