Nippon Club of New York 2021 Summer Festival

Words cannot express our gratitude to the Nippon Club of New York for organizing and sponsoring our fundraising concert “Supporting the musicians of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra” as part of their 2021 Summer Festival today at Peak NYC. 🙏🏼

Our program includes seventeen of our MET Orchestra Musicians and soprano Wendy Bryn Harmer! We will be performing Takashi Yoshimatsu’s “Dream Colored Mobile II, Op. 58 (1993)”, Crisantemi for string quartet Giacomo Puccini, and much more chamber music.  Along with these pieces, Ms. Harmer will sing arrangement by Dov Scheindlin (MET Orchestra violist) of Wagner’s “Du bist der Lenz” from “Die Walküre”,  “Io son l’umile Ancella…” from Adriana Lecouvreur Francesco Cilea, “Song to the Moon” from Rusalka Antonin Dvořák and  “Porgi amor” from Le Nozze di Figaro Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart!

It is so amazing to hear the MET Orchestra come to life again that we have decided to offer this on our Spotlight concert platform in a few weeks.

We are honored to have in attendance His Excellency Kimihiro Ishikane, the Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations and Ambassador Kanji Yamanouchi, Ambassador and Consul General of Japan in New York.
